Welcome to the Team: Will Kieley

We would like to welcome Will to the Phase 5 team. Will joins us from the land of 10,000 lakes, Minnesota. So it is not surprising he has been shredding behind a boat for many many years. He has chosen to ride a Phase 5 going all the way back to about 2016. I got to hang out with Will at the MNWSC. Will is a very humble and polite person. Stoked on life and wakesurfing and always willing to help out. I don't think we could find a better fit for a Phase 5 team rider.  We caught up with Will recently and here is what he has going on.

Name: Will Kieley (pronounced Kylie)

Age: 20

Where are you from: Independence, Minnesota

Home Lake: Lake Independence

Current Sponsors: Phase 5, Minnesota Inboard, North Shore Marina

What Board are you riding? I am currently riding the 2021 52” Key and it absolutely rips

Why Wakesurfing: I chose wakesurfing because when I was 16, I got concussed and fractured my back which caused me to quit lacrosse- later on that year I got knee surgery so I knew I was done with organized sports for good. Wakesurfing is something that was always relaxing and fun for me. The best part about wakesurfing is that it is quite easy on the body which allowed me to forget about my injuries. I’d say quitting lacrosse was the best thing that ever happened to me…I focused on wakesurfing and fell in love.

Favorite Athlete: Nyjah Huston

Favorite Music: Hip Hop/Rap I am a big fan of Polo G

Any other Careers? A data analyst/business owner

Fun Fact: I snowboard, wakeboard, and skateboard goofy foot. I had to learn how to ride regular because our boat couldn’t switch sides!!

What do you do in your off season? I go to school in Denver, Colorado where I do a lot of snowboarding and take classes during the fall, winter, and spring.

Tips to a rider who just bought their first Phase 5? Remember the most important thing about wakesurfing is that YOU are the one on the water, and how lucky we are to be a part of such an awesome sport. Keep shredding!!
