John Akerman’s surf blade of choice, the Ahi, has been one of our most popular boards in the surf line the last few years. The Ahi is known as a “complete ocean style” surfboard that delivers true wakesurf performance. John’s vision with the Ahi was to make it feel like you’re getting barrelled in the ocean every time you jump on the board! This board features our most uniquely shaped tail as well. The shape that John affectionately calls the “moon tail”. This design lets you attack the wave with ease and boost airs above the lip. This board is also available in the STEALTH version for even more responsiveness. Our STEALTH constructionis the newest surf style build that introduces basalt into our lineup. This layup schedule includes a full basalt/innegra top weave reinforced with a carbon stringer and tail patches. The bottom is a full Innegra sheet reinforced with a carbon stringer. It is the strongest layup schedule that we have to date in the lineup and it doesn’t sacrifice any performance. The Stealth build provides great pop and a lively feel under the rider’s feet. This build is only offered on our top “Performance” shapes.
