Lee Hite is a young gun and new to the Phase 5 team for 2024. He rips on both surf and skim style and just placed 3rd in Pro Men’s Skim at the Nautique European Wakesurf Championships so we’d say things are looking pretty good for him! Get to know him a little better below.

P5: Where are you from and where do you usually ride?
Lee: I am from Jacksonville, FL originally and I ride on Kingsley Lake which is close to where I live now.

P5: How has the 2024 season been treating you so far?
Lee: The 2024 season has been great! I went pro this year in the skim division and so far, it’s been a great experience! I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me.

P5: Surf or skim, which do you prefer?
Lee: I ride skim more because that’s the main division I compete in but I love riding both skim and surf. They both have their pros so I enjoy both!

P5: What are some of your goals for the rest of the year?
Lee: I definitely want to keep riding the competitions and to place better and better each time. I just need to stay sharp and train to make it happen!

P5: Who is your usual riding crew?
Lee: Most days, it’s just my dad and I who go out because there aren’t many riders in my area. We always have a good time though so it’s not a bad thing!

P5: What’s your favorite surf style board and why?
Lee: The Phantom by Parker Payne is my favorite surf style board to ride because of the squared off nose and tail and the weight of the board being very light. This board makes it easy to land tricks and you can go big on it.

P5: What about skim?
Lee: My favorite skim style board is the Key by Sean Silveira because of the amount of forgiveness the board has. Even if you land on the board wrong, you can still recover and ride away. You can do anything you can imagine on the Key!

P5: What are some of your hobbies outside of wakesurfing?
Lee: I play baseball a lot so when I’m not wakesurfing, that’s most likely what I am doing.

P5: Thanks for chatting with us, Lee. Is there anything else you’d like to say or anyone you’d like to thank?
Lee: I would like to thank Phase 5 for making the best boards there is! And to all of my sponsors, Inland Wave Supply Co. and Lake Area Watersports, for always supporting me and showing me love.
