The Chip is the second installment of foil specific boards into the line. Many experienced foilers are gravitating to smaller sized boards since the need of a larger board is rendered useless once the rider is on foil. The Chip is ready to deliver yet another entirely new foiling experience. The sensation of flying across the water without seeing the nose of a board underneath is awesome.
Equipped with Phase Five foot straps, the Chip is ready to go! Riding with foot straps helps the rider make faster turns and ride more aggressively.
The Phase Five foil design team shaped a turned down rail which helps the board stay up out of the water on foil. This is a unique feature found only on the Chip for 2020.
We don't know where the sport of foiling will go, but we're confident the Chip is ready for whatever can be thrown at it.
The complete Chip Board + Foil package comes with the new Phase Fives Nova Foil. The Phase Five Nova Foil is equipped with a longer 28" mast for more room to fly and pump, something seasoned foilers will appreciate.
The Phase Five Nova Surf Foil Package comes with the larger 760 Front Wing with neoprene covers. The 760 Wing increases overall lift and stability compared to its predecessor.
In addition the 760 Front Wing delivers even more side-to-side stability which is essential to making the sport accessible to first time foilers. If you are learning for the first time, we highly recommend picking up a short 18" mast to start out. The short mast will cut the learning curve down in half, and get the rider flying above the water in no time. Once the rider can hover on the short mast steadily, its time to progress to the long 28" mast for the full experience.
