In 2024, it seemed like no matter where you turned, Whitley Stewart was standing on the top spot of a podium. One of the most technical riders out there, Whitley traveled around all season long shredding and sharing the stoke with tons of different riders. Not only that, she had a pro model release at the end of the season (the Stewart Pro) which really cemented her top status. We caught up with Whitley to chat about the season, her new board, and what the future holds for her.
The 2024 Wake Canada National Wakesurf Championships presented by SWS Marine Group were held in southeast British Columbia over the weekend with the Phase 5 team riders making several podium finishes. Bailey Rush took first in Pro Womens Skim, with team riders Caroline Villeneuve taking second and Jolene Allen taking third. Rush, a dominant dual rider, went on to take gold and the National Championship in Pro Women’s Surf. With Ontario’s Timmy McNamee capturing the silver medal and P5 team rider Jolene Allen taking bronze.
The season is slowly but surely coming to an end. Last week, we had the final event in the Pro Wakeboard Tour for the surfing division and it was a solid time for team Phase 5! In case you haven’t been paying attention, Phase 5 has been dominating the event circuit lately and it’s most apparent with the closing of the PWT season. Jett Lambert, known for his consistency and technical prowess, 3-peated the events this year with 3 back-to-back-to-back 1st place finishes that landed him in the top spot for the overall title! Congrats, Jett!
Team Phase 5 has been killing it all over the place lately! Last weekend it was Jett Lambert and Rob McClelland placing at the PWT in Utah while John Akerman and Lee Hite took podium spots at the Nautique European Wakesurf Championships in London! This weekend is no different with the 2024 Wake the Desert and Waves of Hungary contests going down in Texas and Hungary, respectively. Check out the podium pictures below for Team Phase 5!
Two major contests went down this weekend – Stop #2 of the Pro Wakeboard Tour in Park City, Utah & the Nautique European Wakesurf Championships at Liquid Leisure in London. Team Phase 5 had an impressive showing at both contests with team riders appearing on each podium!
You may have already seen but bummer news from the Minnesota Wakesurf Championship competition that was supposed to go down this weekend! There are a lot of moving parts when it comes to putting on an event and sometimes the pieces don’t fit together. We’re bummed to see the MNWSC be canceled for 2024 but know they’ll come back even better in 2025! See below for a quote from the MNWSC about the situation:
This past weekend, we cruised up to Lake Lanier for the 2024 Southern Surf Slam! This event was jammed full with vendors, food trucks, music, and good times! We started on 6/27 with a pro/am clinic where riders got to pair up with the pros to get coached and even simulate their contest run later in the day. Things like this really help young riders not only gain confidence and learn new tricks but get more acquainted with the contest scene so they’re not so nervous going into their first competition!
The season is in full swing and team Phase 5 is claiming podiums like it’s nobody’s business! This past weekend was a whirlwind of events and once the dust had settled, team Phase 5 showed why they’re considered some of the best in the world! Check out the pics below of the team holding up some hardware!
Another contest has come and gone and it was another good showing for team Phase 5! The Volunteer Wake Surf Classic went down this past weekend in Johnson City, TN thanks to Centurion Boats and CBK Watersports. It was a solid weekend of surfing full of demos as well as the contest!
Phase 5 is excited to announce our sponsorship with the upcoming Southern Slam Surf Event on June 28th and 29th, on Lake Lanier, just outside of Atlanta, Georgia. Hosted by Surf ATL and benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Atlanta, this is sure to be one of the biggest stops on the World Series of Wakesurfing calendar with a purse of $25k!
Wake The Canyon, presented by the WWA, went down this past weekend at Buffalo Spring Lake in Lubbock, TX. The contest consisted of wakeboarding and wakesurfing. The hot Texas sun beat down as Team Phase 5 shredded and found themselves on some of the podiums! Congrats to all the riders who placed and a big thanks to the sponsors for putting on the event!
